Appeals and Judicial Review

Burokas Law conducts appeals on behalf of both individuals/business and regulators. Some examples include:

• Appeals of Registration Committee decisions to the Health Professions Appeal and Review Board;
• Conviction and sentence appeals of a regulatory offence at the Ontario Court of Justice;
• Reconsideration Licence Appeal Tribunal decisions, and;
• Further appeal to Divisional Court.

Burokas Law will also conduct applications for judicial review in Divisional Court of any applicable tribunal or regulator decision to review it's legality and appropriateness. Alternatively, Burokas Law will assist a regulator respond to a judicial review or pursue one against another governmental body such as an independent tribunal. Michael has experience drafting applications for judicial review on behalf of a regulator for relief against a tribunal.
